This is an in-depth, relaxed conversation where Kathy gets to know you as a couple — how you met, what drew you together, the important moments you’ve shared, your cultural backgrounds, your personalities, and the atmosphere you want for your ceremony. She uses this meeting to understand what truly matters to you so that every element of your ceremony feels authentic and individually crafted.

Drawing from African, Caribbean, Asian, European and global wedding traditions, Kathy helps you select cultural elements that feel meaningful to you and your families. These are explained respectfully during the ceremony so every guest understands the significance of what’s being honoured.

Kathy helps you plan entrances, timings, transitions, readings, and ritual cues so you feel confident and supported. On the day, she ensures everything runs seamlessly and with warmth.

Unlike specifically registered venues, there is far more flexibility in where a ceremony can take place, at home, at a favourite location, a beach, park, at a special venue i.e. where you first met. The opportunities are endless…Kathy will help source a suitable venue if you need ideas

The ‘signing’ of the marriage certificate can be done in the presence of the registrar before the day, on the day of the ceremony, or after the day of the the ceremony, to make the marriage legally binding. Kathy will support you with arranging this if needed

In terms of timescale, booking Kathy is recommended 6-12 months in advance. Your date is secured once the booking fee and associated documentation is submitted. Shorter timescales may be possible, so please do check.

During the planning process Kathy will work with you to identify alternative indoor arrangements, should the weather be unsuitable on the day. Whatever happens, you will have your beautiful ceremony !

Together with Kathy, you will agree a payment plan at the start of the consultation process.

You will receive details of payment and cancellation policy during the booking process.
