Make it special
Currently in England and Wales, celebrant led wedding ceremonies are symbolic rather than legally binding. You will need to make an appointment with a registry office only to complete the legal paperwork separately. This can be done either before the day, on the same day, or afterwards providing the legal marriage certificate, and allowing your special celebrant ceremony to really reflect you as a couple, the way you have chosen to celebrate.

With Kathy as your celebrant, your wedding ceremony becomes a true reflection of you — your love story, your culture, and the journey that has brought you together. Every ceremony is thoughtfully crafted from the ground up, allowing you to choose what feels meaningful and authentic. If certain traditions or elements are new to you or your guests, Kathy will gently guide everyone through them, ensuring your ceremony feels inclusive, engaging, and beautifully understood by all.

Kathy will weave in cultural and spiritual rituals from across the world. These may include, but are not limited to, hand-tying, sand ceremonies, unity candles, knot tying, broom jumping, garland exchanges, breaking of the glass, and other African, Caribbean, European, Asian, or multicultural traditions — always explained with care and respect, so every guest feels connected to the moment.

Initial Planning meeting (Preferably in person)
Second - In person meeting
Final read-through meeting (if required)
Bespoke Personalised Script
Kathy’s personal attendance and delivery of the ceremony
Research and arrangement of a symbolic element/ritual, if desired (purchasable materials will be additional)
Close contact throughout the process
Liaison with key family or friend contributors (up to three)
Edits up to 3 weeks prior to the event, by prior agreement
Consultation with the venue, suppliers and other key people involved in the ceremony
A presentation copy of the ceremony script as a keepsake (within 2 weeks following the ceremony)
Ceremony certificate (if required)

Kathy helps you plan entrances, timings, transitions, readings, and ritual cues so you feel confident and supported. On the day, she ensures everything runs seamlessly and with warmth.

Unlike specifically registered venues, there is far more flexibility in where a ceremony can take place, at home, at a favourite location, a beach, park, at a special venue i.e. where you first met. The opportunities are endless…Kathy will help source a suitable venue if you need ideas

The ‘signing’ of the marriage certificate can be done in the presence of the registrar before the day, on the day of the ceremony, or after the day of the the ceremony, to make the marriage legally binding. Kathy will support you with arranging this if needed

In terms of timescale, booking Kathy is recommended 6-12 months in advance. Your date is secured once the booking fee and associated documentation is submitted. Shorter timescales may be possible, so please do check.

During the planning process Kathy will work with you to identify alternative indoor arrangements, should the weather be unsuitable on the day. Whatever happens, you will have your beautiful ceremony !

Together with Kathy, you will agree a payment plan at the start of the consultation process.
You will receive details of payment and cancellation policy during the booking process.
If the unavoidable does happen, Kathy will endeavour to resolve any issues to protect the interests of both parties
